The First PDA Navigation program to offer Voice Recognition
May 20, 2003 — Boston based TeleType Co. is showing a preview version of the TeleType GPS software offering Live Traffic and Voice Recognition at the Planet PDA Expo in Danvers, MA. TeleType is the first company to offer a GPS system which listens to the driver. TeleType has partnered with a live traffic service to be able to offer TeleType GPS customers accident reporting. In addition the software offers the ability to automatically reroute to avoid traffic as designated directly by the driver. The driver can choose to avoid small sections of a specific road or highway or the entire region.
Voice recognition of common functions such as zooming and re-routing provides for more hands free control of the navigation system.
TeleType also offers a free Live Weather plug-in for its current software, which allows for the display of live weather tracking on TeleType GPS enabled maps.
TeleType offers highly configurable GPS software to power Pocket PCs, Laptops, and Tablets. The software offers land, air, and water navigation with option for remote vehicle tracking.
