To load other maps

In order to load street maps or aviation maps, make sure you change your navigation mode.

There are several different methods to load maps using your TeleType GPS Pro software:

1. To load maps, open the TeleType GPS software. You should see a base map showing city points in your country. (If you do not see this, you need to load YourCountry_place.ttm where YourCountry is replaced by the name of your country by using Option #2 below.) Zoom in towards the area you wish to see in a detailed view.

2.	You may also click/tap on File > Load > Load Map to select a particular map to load. (Useful for loading country basemaps and to manually load any regular maps).

3.	Maps for a single area can also be loaded by right-clicking on the map (tapping and holding on PDA) on a particular location and selecting Load/Unload from the shortcut menu. Then you can choose exactly which type of maps to load or unload for a particular area.

4. With the Auto Load feature enabled, the software will automatically load local maps and/or Yellow Pages/POIs when you drive, fly, or navigate into an area, and unload them when you leave the area, based on your preference.

5. Alternatively, if you wish to load a large area at one time, select File > Load > Load in View. From the Load in View, you may choose to load Street Maps, Highway Only, Weather Maps, TOPO, and/or Aerial. This will fill in the area you can see with the appropriate maps.

The following is a brief description of each type of map:

· Street Maps will load the detailed street maps of all towns and cities in the center of your screen.

· Highway Only will load only the highway maps for the states in the center of your screen.

· Weather Maps will load detailed weather information from the National Doppler Radar Service Image.

· Traffic Maps will load information about traffic accidents and road construction sites.

· Topographic Maps will load a detailed map that displays elevation, forests, and streams, and other objects.

· Aerial will load a satellite photo of the area, displaying an overhead view of the terrian.

Weather, Traffic, Topographic, and Aerial maps are Add-ons that need to be purchased separately from TeleType GPS.

On your laptop/desktop, draw a box around an area you wish to load using the left mouse button or stylus. Once the box is drawn, right-click (tap once on the PDA) inside the box to load the maps within that box. To unload, after the box is drawn, right-click (tap) outside the box. Left-clicking (tapping) inside the box will zoom in, and left-clicking (tapping) outside of the box will zoom out. See the table below for a summary of these functions.

Note that the Right-click commands are only for street navigation, not for marine.

During install, maps are copied to the hard drive but still need to be loaded into the TeleType GPS software as described above so you can view them.

To accommodate the limited memory on PDA devices, maps are only installed to the desktop computer. You will then decide which maps to export to the PDA and loaded into the software.

If maps are being loaded from a storage card, that storage card must remain in the PDA for the program to operate properly.

The basemap for a country will have to be loaded manually by going to File > Load > Load Maps once it has been exported to the PDA.

Weather, Traffic, and Temporary Flight Restriction Maps are paid subscriptions and required passwords for access.
