To see information about Nautical Objects

To view Nautical Objects, you must be in Marine Navigation mode and have selected what you want to see in the Marine Preferences Window (see Set Marine Preferences). To view instructions on how to change navigation and load marine maps, see Loading Marine Maps section.

In order to use Marine Maps, you must have purchased the Marine Maps Add-On from TeleType GPS.


Here is an example of a marine map with Nautical Objects displayed:

Steps:

1. Right click (or tap and hold) on a symbol. A menu will appear. To view information about this nautical object, click or tap on Info.

2. The Info window will give you a list of symbols from the surrounding area and important information about each of them.

3. Select the desired nautical object. A toolbar will come up in the upper left corner of the screen and the nautical object that you have selected is highlighted with a green circle. If the selected nautical object deals with a larger area (such as Depth Contour) you will see a large area filled with green, representing the selected object.


Here is an example of a marine map with a small nautical object (buoy) selected:

4. If you click or tap on the Details button, a window will appear displaying the information about the symbol that you have selected. Click or tap on OK to close the window.

5. If you click or tap on the Back button, the selection window from step 2 will come up again. This will allow you to select other nautical objects in the same area as before. If you click the OK button on this window, it will close and you can pick other symbols on the map in different areas.

6. If you click or tap on the Close button, the toolbar will go away and the green highlight will disappear.

tip
If you try to find info on a symbol and it is not displayed in the selection window, zoom closer to increase accuracy and try again.
