The Navigation Preferences tab (PC)

Display - Allows you to choose Head Up display mode. In this mode, the direction you are traveling will be "up" on the map, regardless of whether you are traveling North, South, East, or West. Rather than Head Up, unchecking this option will result in North Up mode, which has a faster redraw, but is not as convenient for understanding your direction of travel.

note
Selecting Head Up mode will increase screen redraw times and limit the zoom level.

note
Selecting Head Up will enable Automatic Zoom Refresh, which will return you to a specific zoom level after 15 seconds when you zoom in or out.

Lock to Route -
When this feature is selected your GPS signal will not deviate from your active route. When the auto re-route feature is activated, GPS signal drift can cause the program to automatically calculate a new route. The Lock to Route feature will resolve your GPS position to the nearest point on your route.

Auto Zoom - Automatic zooming of the map display allows you to configure the amount of map displayed based on the speed of travel. Typically, when you slow down, you want to see street level, and when you speed up, you want to see a larger map area, showing mostly highways. If you prefer to adjust your zoom level manually, leave the Auto Zoom selection at None. You can adjust the initial lock in zoom level to desired amount of detail by selecting desired level in the drop-down menu.
