Note: Unloading maps is the process of removing them from view; these maps will not get deleted and will remain on your computer for future use.
There are several ways to unload maps from view:
1. To unload maps from the program on your PC, select File, and then select Manage Maps. To unload maps from the program on your PDA, select MENU > Maps > Manage Maps. Now select Unload All to unload all the maps you currently have loaded. This will leave only the basemaps loaded, and unload all other street, highway, aviation, marine, and NOS maps you may have had loaded. If you have generated a route, the Unload All function will ask if you want to unload the current route or not. You may also select one map at a time from the list above and select Unload Selected Map. To unload multiple maps and not all the maps, you may hit on the ctrl key on the keyboard or tap the ctrl button in your keyboard panel on your PDA.
2. You can unload a map by right-clicking (tapping & holding) on an area and selecting Show Maps from the menu that appears. Then uncheck the type of maps you wish to unload (Street, Highway, Yellow Pages). You may need to press the Advanced button and uncheck any other type of maps you wish to unload (Relief, Traffic, Weather, Temporary Flight Restrictions, Topographic Maps, and/or Aerial).
3. If you are using the Auto Load maps feature, the street or aviation maps for an area will automatically be unloaded when you leave an area.
