Return to Top Are the TeleType GPS receivers Differential ready? TeleType offers several WAAS capable receivers for extra accuracy. In addition, the Teletype software is differential ready. TeleType wireless (cordless) receivers such as the WorldNavigator, Rugged CF/PCMCIA, and Bluetooth receivers offer the user complete mobility, ease of use, and sleek appearance in the vehicle. While other solutions may cost less, they require cables making them unsuitable for outdoor use. Return to Top What maps are included when I buy your software? See the TeleType GPS catalog under Software & World Navigator Bundles category for more detail. Return to Top What level of detail is available for your maps? Return to Top Do you sell topographical maps in addition to your regular street/aviation map bundles? You can download topographical maps for free from the Microsoft Terra Server website. Click here for more information about topographical maps. Return to Top I have noticed that Microsoft Terra Server Maps do not take into account the curvature of the Earth. Is there any way I can correct this? The Terra server topographic and aerial maps do not take into account the curvature of the earth and therefore may appear distorted or unable to align perfectly among themselves. This is most notable when using multiple contiguous Terra Server maps in the TeleType GPS application. By contrast, the TeleType application does take into account the curvature of the earth so the application is more precise than the Terra Server maps can display by default. By contrast, using the TeleType GPS Geocoder program (Product #3059) will allow you to code and import Terra Server maps, as well as any other digital map you wish to use with the TeleType GPS application to effectively eliminate distortion.

Known incompatible programs - Targus Stowaway Keyboard , Pelmar's Wisebar, and any other program that take over the "Today" screen on your Pocket computer. Note that the Jornada Pocket PC's come pre-installed with the Targus software installed. You must use Remove Programs to delete the program from the internal memory. These programs conflict with the TeleType GPS program, due to the port conflicts with operation of the GPS receiver. When using the Targus Stowaway software uncheck the option labeled "Enable Keyboard". Also note that OmegaOne Today Pack (Battery Bar, Volume Bar, Calenda Bar), and GigaBar may slow down the operation of the TeleType GPS system. Unconfirmed reports of a conflict between the TeleType GPS software and Developer One's Agenda Fusion scheduling program have also been reported. If the TeleType GPS system does not work with these programs, please do a factory reset of your PDA, and reinstall the TeleType GPS program. See the Microsoft Knowledge Base to check compatibility. Note that Streets and Trips and PocketStreets will recognize the GPS receiver only when you are outside with satellite appropriate satellite strength, in other words, do not expect to see any data signals coming through unless you are outside. (When using TeleType GPS software even though you cannot lock into a position, you can see a data stream even if you are inside). Return to Top Does TeleType offer a software developer kit (SDK) or API support? Yes, TeleType offers a free SDK and API for Pocket PC's. To receive support you must have a registered copy of the TeleType application program. Return to Top I am using HP Jornada Pocket PC 560 series, is there anything I should do to make it compatible with TeleType GPS software? We recommend that you take advantage of firmware fixes that HP offers.
Pocket PC 2003 Return to Top I am unable to start TeleType GPS application on my laptop or tablet after installing a Bluetooth device driver file (.inf) for the Bluetooth card I am using. What's wrong? Some Bluetooth drivers occupy multiple COM ports after initial use and therefore block all serial communications including communications to the GPS receiver which in turn locks up the TeleType GPS application. To verify the problem exists, view Control Panel, Hardware configuration, notice that multiple ports have been occupied by the one driver. Uninstall the duplicative bluetooth drivers.
Return to Top Are .WAB files compatible with TeleType GPS software? Currently, .WAB files are not compatible with the use of the AddressBook feature that is built-in to TeleType GPS. In fact, .WAB files are currently not available for use with any applications other than Microsoft's. We are communicating with Microsoft to try to coordinate a work-around. Our software can only use .PST files from MS Outlook. Return to Top GPS SET-UP The reciever is not found on my laptop. How can I install? (Reprinted from this page)
Non-Standard Laptop Installation of GPS Cards
Use this version if your laptop fails to assign a COM port to the GPS card or to bypass the use of .inf files.
Windows 98/ME Instructions
Windows 2000/XP Instructions
Windows NT Installation Procedure (Note: Windows NT is no longer supported, this information provided as a service to existing customers). Return to Top How should I configure my GPS receiver? Configure your GPS receiver to output 4800 baud (or higher) serial, NMEA 0183v2.0 (or higher). It is important that you select v2.0 to obtain the most accurate altitude measurements possible. Return to Top I'm using a Pocket PC such as an iPAQ and the TeleType GPS card. No data is coming through, what should I do? Select Tools, GPS Status, Status, select GPS port, 4800 baud. Select Find GPS port, select Open port (if the button dispays Closed, then the port is open). If data is still not flowing, perform a soft-reset on the PDA, then follow these instructions.
Also be sure that you do not have Palm Pilot hot sync enabled or Microsoft ActiveSync activated - as this often conflicts with the COM port for the GPS receiver. Return to Top How does TeleType GPS handle datum corrections? Datum corrections are done directly by the GPS hardware. When you buy a GPS receiver from TeleType then the receiver defaults to WGS 84. Return to Top I am trying to set up the TeleType GPS PocketTracker using an iPAQ. How can I use the TeleType GPS card and the Sierra Wireless Modem card simultaneously? Insert the WorldNavigator in the front slot of the iPAQ dual slot PCMCIA jacket. Insert the modem in the back slot. Start the modem software first, followed by the GPS software. Return to Top Where can I obtain the latest version of Microsoft ActiveSync? The latest version of ActiveSync is available for download from Microsoft. Return to Top How can I change turn warning sound? Delete the file SpdBeep.wav that is located in the GPS directory. Place a new sound file there and rename it to SpdBeep.wav. Note: The sound clip must already be a .wav file. Return to Top I have the TeleType GPS Bluetooth receiver (#1951), I put the receiver in the charger yet it is not charging. How can I charge the receiver? If the Bluetooth GPS receiver is sufficiently discharged then placing directly into the charger will not be adequate to begin charging the unit. First, power the GPS unit directly for 5 minutes. Second, you can remove the power from the GPS unit and power directly to the cradle, insert the GPS receiver into the cradle. Return to Top I have the TeleType GPS mini-Auto receiver for the Samsung i700 (#1285), and I plug in the charger but the Samung i700 is not charging. What is wrong? First the Samsung i700 must be at a sufficiently low power state. Once the charger is plugged in, the battery status window on i700 does not show that it is recharging. That is normal because our voltage is not high enough to show that it is charging on the LED screen, even though it is actually slowly but gradually charging. As a test, try to leave the i700 on for a day while it is plugged in and you will see the power does not go down.
Return to Top My bluetooth cradle continues showing me a constant red light, and not changing into a green light. Changing to a green light would have shown that the bluetooth receiver is fully charged. So is it really charging? The bluetooth is in fact charging even though the red light remains lit on the cradle. It takes about two hours to fully charge the bluetooth receiver. This change will also be mentioned in our future documentation. Return to Top BLUETOOTH I want to open the Desktop version of TeleType GPS without connecting to my Bluetooth GPS Receiver. How do I do this? To turn off automatic connection to the Bluetooth GPS Receiver, hold down the shift key on your keyboard when you start up the software. Return to Top My PC / PDA / Bluetooth host device is asking me for a password / passkey. What is it? 1234 (on older models) or 0000 (on newer models) Return to Top I put the receiver in the charger yet it is not charging. How can I charge the receiver? If the Bluetooth GPS receiver is sufficiently discharged, then placing it directly into the charger will not be adequate to begin charging the unit. First, power the GPS receiver directly for 5 minutes. Second, remove the power from the GPS receiver and apply power directly to the cradle. Insert the GPS receiver into the cradle, and the unit should begin charging normally. Return to Top The TeleType software doesn't seem to be making any connections with my Bluetooth GPS receiver. How do I make it work? You will need to make sure your PDA is paired with the Bluetooth device. Follow the instructions in the Connection section of the Bluetooth documentation to make sure that your PDA is recognizing the Bluetooth GPS receiver properly. If so, you will need to connect with the device by going to the Bluetooth Manager and double-tapping on the TeleType icon. Return to Top I am experiencing difficulties connecting with my Bluetooth GPS and/or locking in to satellites, what should I do? There are one of several things you could do:
- Replace the rechargeable batteries with heavy-duty alkaline batteries.
- Download the GPSDriver.dll file from the Free Downloads page.
- Refer to the Bluetooth documentation for instructions on how to connect with your receiver. Return to Top I am unable to start Teletype GPS application on my laptop or tablet after installing a Bluetooth device driver file (.inf) for the Bluetooth card I am using. Return to Top I am having difficulty using my TeleType GPS Bluetooth receiver. Is there any documentation available? Yes, please see our Bluetooth GPS documentation (PDF format) for detailed information about setting up your Bluetooth GPS receiver, operation, and proper care and maintenance. Return to Top My Bluetooth receiver seems to be connecting to satellites (the green light is blinking), but I am unable to establish a connection between the receiver and my PDA. How can I make a connection? Go to the Bluetooth Manager on your PDA. Locate the "TeleType: SPP Slave" icon and tap and hold. A pop-up menu will appear, select Delete.
Next, locate the Reset button on your Bluetooth GPS receiver and press it. Then perform a soft reset on your PDA.
Once your PDA has finished resetting itself, go back to the Bluetooth Manager screen and perform the typical setup and connection procedures for your Bluetooth receiver (for help with connection, please review the Bluetooth documentation).
Once you have established a pairing, double-click on the "TeleType: SPP Slave" icon to connect your PDA to your Bluetooth receiver.
Finally, run the TeleType GPS software. Go to Tools > GPS Status > Status, select COM 8 as your port, 4800bps, and tap Open Port. You should see symbols scrolling in the gray box below. Return to Top Which COM port should I use when trying to connect to my Bluetooth GPS receiver? TeleType GPS will normally find and open the GPS port automatically using the "Find GPS Port" function under the TeleType GPS Tools menu, GPS, Status tab. However, when running the TeleType GPS application on the Dell Axim X30 or the HP 6300 series, do the following: select Com 7 from the TeleType GPS drop down menu under Tools, GPS, Status tab, then select "Open Port". Data will then begin to flow in the status screen. Return to Top My Bluetooth PDA locks up constantly, is there a way to fix this? Yes, if you are using a Bluetooth-enabled HP iPaq, there is a driver you can download for Pocket PC 2003 that will solve the lockup issue.
You can download the updated Bluetooth driver from the HP website. Return to Top I have 2000 mAh AAA batteries. Will these batteries work with the bluetooth receiver? As long as the batteries are AAA and NiMH compliant, they will work properly with the bluetooth receiver. It will take a longer time to charge batteries. Return to Top Why doesn't my Bluetooth GPS work with my QTEK, iMate, or O2 XDA II PDA? Certain essential Bluetooth functions were not included with the above PDAs, but there is a solution, Pocket Bluetooth Tools, available for free download. Keep in mind this software is freeware, and while it has no affiliation with TeleType GPS and is therefore not supported by TeleType, several TeleType customers report success using the product. Return to Top My HP iPAQ 6315 dosen't detect my bluetooth GPS, how can I possibly fix this? Ensure that your baud rate is 4800, select com7 manually click "open port" you will now see a data stream, go outside to lock it in. Return to Top INSTALLATION I receive an error message when I install the program to my Pocket PC. The error message says the program was made for an earlier version of Pocket PC. Is TeleType Pro compatible with my OS? Yes. You can ignore this message, which pertains to the installer only - not the TeleType Pro software. Return to Top I am using an iPAQ 5400 Series PDA, is there anything I should do to make it compatible with TeleType GPS software? Make sure you are running the latest HP iPAQ ROM. iPAQ 5400 series ROM download and information is available on the HP website. Click here. Return to Top I am having trouble installing the TeleType GPS program, are there any known conflicts that may prevent installation? Disable McAfee Virus Scan 6.1 as it may cause a problem during installation of TeleType software. Return to Top The TeleType GPS program installs yet fails to transfer maps from desktop to PDA, what is wrong? Active Sync 3.7.1 requires the use of TeleType GPS version 122003 or higher. To purchase an upgrade visit www.teletype.com/gps/catalog and click on Upgrades.
Return to Top What does error "not a Windows CE device" mean? You are probably attempting to install the GPS program on a version 1.0x device. If you intend to use the TeleType GPS software on a Windows CE device you must have version 2.12 or higher of the Windows CE operating system. Return to Top I cannot install the TeleType GPS program onto my iPAQ. The TeleType install program does not detect Microsoft ActiveSync. What should I do? You need to install Microsoft ActiveSync 3.7 or higher first. Click here to go to the download page. Return to Top How do I load maps into the memory card? 1. Select Tranfer ->Storage Maps->Streets, and then select the country and state you wish to export to the PDA. For a visual demonstration of this process, click here to go to our video tutorial page. Return to Top How do I load maps on my Windows CE/Pocket PC version of TeleType GPS? The easiest way to load multiple maps at once on the PDA is to use the Load in View functionality. To use this, center the map so you only see the area you are interested in on the screen, and then go to File->Load->Load in View->Street Maps, and the maps will be loaded if they are on the PDA or a storage card. For a video demonstration of this click here. Return to Top I can't seem to establish a connection between my desktop computer and my CE device, it used to work before, what's wrong? Quit the TeleType GPS program on both the desktop and the CE computer. Leaving the GPS program running during the time you are trying to establish a connection between the desktop and the
CE can lock up the com port as it is waiting for GPS signals rather than looking for a machine for synchronization. Return to Top How can I verify that my Pocket PC is receiving GPS signals? TeleType GPS receivers require an active serial port in order to function.
1. Be sure to disable conflicting software such as Targus Stowaway Keyboard software and any other software which takes over the Today Screen on your Pocket PC.
2. Perform a soft-reset on your Pocket PC. If you have TeleType GPS Software continue with step 3, if you do not use TeleType software skip to number 4.
3. Activate TeleType GPS software, select Tools>GPS status>Status. Check that the button appears with the word "Close" (that actually indicates that the port is Open, to close the port you would click on the button labeled "Close"). To test whether the port is locked, attempt to toggle from Open to Close and vice versa. If you are unable to toggle the port from Open to Close, you need to soft reset and possibly hard reset your Pocket PC.
4. If you still cannot establish a connection, check to see whether your Pocket PC recognizes the GPS receiver. Instructions.
Is the GPS receiving signals?
1. Activate the TeleType GPS program
2. Select Tools>GPS Status>Status.
3. Look closely at the GPS output that is displayed in the View Status menu. Data should be flowing even when the GPS receiver has not locked in the position.
The data string that begins: GPGSV... is "bad data" because the receiver has not locked into the satellites.
Whereas: GPGSA... is "good data" indicating that the receiver has locked into the satellites.
Remember - "A-Okay"
4. Once the data is flowing, go outside away from buildings, select the Satellites tab (Tools>GPS Status>Satellites), and watch the satellite signal strength improve until your position is locked in.
Return to Top I am having a hard time locking into position. How can I check whether GPS satellites are functioning properly? The Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association (AOPA) organization maintains a web page showing up to date information regarding the reliability of GPS signals in specific areas of the country. Return to Top I am using HP Jornada Pocket PC 560 series, is there anything I should do to make it compatible with TeleType GPS software? We recommend that you take advantage of firmware fixes that HP offers.
Pocket PC 2003
Return to Top Why is my Navigation screen blank? Be sure to download the appropriate TeleType GPS data packages to the computer. The TeleType GPS program will automatically display your position if the correct geographic area is loaded. Return to Top The maps disappear from my screen after I restart the program. What's wrong? The GPS program preferences file called "gps.init" has become "read-only" and is therefore unable to "remember" which maps were loaded on your desktop/laptop computer. Locate the gps.init file (C:\Windows\gps.init) also can be found on (C:\WindowsNT\gps.init) - right click the file, select preferences, un-select "read only". You should also check for additional gps.init files by performing a file search throughout your system. Change all gps.init files to have full access, i.e. uncheck "read only" property. Now TeleType will be able to remember all program settings including last set of maps used.
Return to Top Why can't I see any maps even after I zoom and scroll? If you are looking for a place in the U.S.A. use the Find command (Tools Menu) to type the name of the place and the state. Options will appear in the resulting dialog box. By selecting one of the places listed, the program will automatically center it's position at that place.
If you are looking for a place outside of the U.S.A. select "File->Manage Maps" to see which maps you have loaded. Be sure to load TeleType GPS maps (these are files with .ttm as the extension) for the correct area. You can then zoom to the right location.
Alternatively, take the GPS system and PDA outside. Once your position is fixed it will show your position on the map. Return to Top How can I conveniently load many street maps at one time when using a Laptop or Desktop computer? Be sure you have installed the desired maps on the hard drive of your system (normally this takes place during initial installation process). Go to File->Load->Load Maps and select the state you are interested in loading. To select all the maps, hold down the control key (CTRL) and hit A. This will highlight all the maps in the folder, and then you can click on open. This will load an entire state into the program at once. Return to Top My position appears to be offset, what's wrong? If a different grid system other than our default WGS84 is used, the position may appear to be offset. You may encounter such problems when traveling in Hawaii or importing a specialized map which has a different datum. To fix this problem,
1. Go to View/Show Preference/Display
2. Check "Use Defined Datum". Enter desired number of meters (positive or negative) where X=East(minus)/West(plus) direction, and Y=North(plus)/South(minus) direction. Return to Top I live in Hawaii and I purchased your software. When I lock in and look at my position on the map, it turns out that my position on the map is shifted by a significant distance to the south-east from my actual position. What is wrong? Please use the defined datum to correct your position. Go to View->Preference... and in the Display tab change dx to -1166, change dy to 3988, and check "Use Defined Datum". This should eliminate the problem and your position after that should be properly displayed on the map. Version 092003 and higher support Hawaii maps without the need for correction. Return to Top How can I lock the GPS in faster the first time it's in use? 1. Be sure the PDA date and time is accurate to within one hour of local time.
2. Use the Find Address feature to locate the town you are near, when the window pops up, select "Initialize GPS". Return to Top Why can't I close the GPS window using HP Task Switcher? Because the TeleType GPS program pops up a message saying "Do you really want to quit the program?" when you try to close the TeleType GPS window using HP Task Switcher (in the bottom right corner). In this case, you need to go back to the GPS window and select Yes to quit the program properly. Return to Top I'm using T-Mobile Pocket PC/phone or iMATE and I cannot get GPS hardware to be recognized. What's wrong? The T-Mobile Pocket PC phone defaults to keeping Infrared communications open, this conflicts with operation of any serial device such as the TeleType GPS receivers. To correct the situation select Start and Settings. Open the Connections tab. Tap the Beam icon. Uncheck the box next to Receive all incoming beams... Return to Top When I use the Pocket PC the electronic keyboard disappears. What's wrong? Stop using the GigaBar utility. Return to Top The audible direction indicators are not working. What's wrong? Be sure the .wav files are located on the main memory of the pocket computer, inside the GPS directory (on the root) rather than on a storage card. Also be sure that the sound volume is turned "On" with sufficient volume. Return to Top Routing appears to be taking a long time. What's wrong? For fastest routing, make sure the route settings are set to Quickest Path. This will ensure that the generated route will stay on the highway when possible. To get to the Route Settings screen, select Route->Route Settings.
Also, make sure that the Routing Area Size is set large enough. You can get access to this option through the same window as before. On the PC, this option can be set as large as possible. On the PDA, if this is set to high, you will get the"Unable to find right route" error message. If you get this error message, reduce the Routing Area Size and try the route again.
Return to Top How can I get the GPS to lock in faster? Set the computer's date, time and location properly. Use the "Initialization" feature. Attach an external antenna and keep the antenna horizontal with respect to the ground. Return to Top How can I load another data set or maps? The easiest way to load more maps into the software is through the Load in View functionality. This will load maps for the area currently in view into the software. To use load in view, select File->Load->Load in View->Street Maps. This will load more maps into the software, provided they are installed on your PC or PDA. Return to Top How can I load new types of data overlays such as airports, roads, or marine maps? Select File->Load->Load Maps and then select the map you wish to load into the software. Marine maps will have a .nos extension while all other maps should have a .ttm file extension. Return to Top How can I see Points of Interest on my screen? 1. Be sure you are using TeleType GPS v092003 or higher.
2. Be sure Display POI is checked ON under Display Preferences.
3. Right-Click on a location, select Load/Unload from the menu, make sure Load and POI is checked, and then click OK.
Return to Top How can I add my own data points? Select Waypoint from the Tools menu to add your own points to your own database. You can provide comments in the note area. Return to Top Some city and town points seem to be located far from where I would expect. Why? City/town points are determined from a geometrical analysis provided by the U.S. government. Return to Top I am having trouble booting up the TeleType GPS program. What should I do? Delete the GPS preferences file. The correct file to delete is called "gps.init" and the file is found inside the GPS directory. This file "remembers" the last settings, including program preferences and maps loaded, you will need to re-load maps and reset preferences. Return to Top My PDA no longer seems to be functioning properly, what should I do? Be sure you have obtained the latest ROM upgrade for the device you are using. ROM upgrades are periodically issued by PDA manufacturers are available for free download directly from the manufacturer.
Return to Top My PDA appears to be locked up, what should I do? Please follow these instructions. Return to Top My receiver worked, however, now I do not see any data scrolling in the program. If your receiver communicates with your PDA when you manually test it, please delete the file RMClog.txt. Return to Top Can I install the program to an external flash memory card? The TeleType GPS program needs to be installed directly on the main memory of the handheld computer. Maps may be stored on external storage devices such as flash cards and hard drives. Return to Top When I try to install the program or maps nothing happens, or the system appears to lock up, what's wrong? Most likely there is a conflict among resources the program is using. Disable Norton Anti-virus and try again. Return to Top My PDA appears to be locked up, not saving my Bluetooth COM port settings, or otherwise not responding properly when I activate the TeleType program. How can I correct the situation? Most likely there is (or was) a conflict in either software or hardware that has caused the PDA registry files to become corrupt. Click here for detailed instructions. Return to Top Why can't I assign TeleType GPS tasks to buttons on my Pocket PC? You might need to release the manufacture default button function first within Start/Settings/Personal/Buttons. Return to Top How can I conserve battery power when using the iPAQ? Set the Backlight display to OFF or set time (seconds or minutes) to turn off backlight if device is not used. You can also adjust the brightness for the power usage. Return to Top Using a PDA (such as iPAQ) when I tap on File or View menu the menus remain on the screen, they fail to disappear. What is wrong? Your PDA has almost run out of memory. Please remove files and/or assign more memory to program rather than storage. Return to Top Using the HP Jornada 720 it appears that the Route menu is missing. What's wrong? Move the floating scale bar menu down a level to expose the Route menu. Return to Top I have no speed indicator and/or the date appears wrong in my GPS data display, and/or the position arrow fails to rotate on my map. What's wrong? Most likely you have used the GPS Advanced Utility (#8040), often used to turn WAAS on/off, and you have inadvertently set at least one string value to zero. When using the TeleType GPS application for navigation and tracking all values must be greater than zero. Use the GPS Advanced Utility to set all values to at least "1". Return to Top When I select "head up" I lose detail in the map. What's wrong? At pre-determined zoom levels, the TeleType software drops details to conserve CPU memory which therefore enables map rotation and screen redraw to be fast. Return to Top When I use TeleType to create a route, I get different results than what I would expect. How can I have more control to make the route come out the way I prefer? Using TeleType to route a familiar route, such as from your home to your office, you will find that manually adding waypoint(s) to the route will allow you to customize the resulting route to your preference. A waypoint is a user defined point that forces the program to create a route through this point.
To create a waypoint, simply zoom in a little, so you can see local streets. For PC right-click on the place where you want your waypoint to be, select “Add Waypoint”. For Pocket PC click on the place where you want your waypoint to be, select “Add To Waypoints”. To place a waypoint by using the address of the place, select from the Tools Menu “Find”, then “Address”. Enter the address, then press “Find”, highlight the correct address, then press “Go To”. After you press “Go To” the map with the waypoint appears on the screen and the waypoint is automatically added to you route. Repeat one of the procedures for as many times as you need. After that select “Waypoints…” from Tools Menu. In the left window click once on the “general.way” and make sure the “Default File” box is checked. Click the button “route”, the desired route will be displayed. To learn more about the waypoints, see “Creating Waypoints” in the Help Menu. Return to Top After I close the program my hardware buttons are still locked to it. What can I do? In most cases, the program is not actually closed. Clicking the X in the top right de-activates the program, but does not close it. Activate the program again and tap File>Exit. The hardware buttons should now be functioning as usual. Return to Top I receive error message or unable to install the compact flash gps driver to my laptop or tablet xp. How can I resolve? Go to Device Manager, Hardware, be sure the CF card is not trying to be installed in Comm 1 or Comm 3 as those ports are normally taken by other built-in devices and cause conflicts. You will most likely see an exclamation sign next to the port in use. You need to resolve the conflict such that the comm port that is assigned by Windows to the TeleType GPS CF card appears without an exclamation sign. Please also see "ByPass .inf" instructions . Return to Top When I set ETA as a corner window, I don't see my Estimated Time of Arrival. Is it working? During street navigation, the Estimated Time of Arrival can be viewed via the expanded navigation panel. To activate the navigation panel go to Tools>Nav and check the box next to "Show Navigation Panel". Expand the panel by clicking on the arrow in the panel's upper righthand corner. Return to Top How can I remove the TeleType icon that appears on the "Today" background screen? This is a feature that allows the program to be activated directly from the PDA main "home" screen. To remove the logo go to Settings > Today > Items. uncheck what you do not want. Return to Top While attempting to connect my Pocket PC to Bluetooth GPS receiver "Invalid Card" message appears. What's wrong? Most likely there is a comm port conflict with a modem card. Configure TeleType to use the Bluetooth port rather than allowing the program to search for available serial ports. Procedure: Launch TeleType, go to Tools, GPS Status, Status screen and select the correct port for Bluetooth (not for modem card) then quit TeleType, relaunch. (Note: Bluetooth port varies by Pocket PC model, check BT manager on your Pocket PC for details). Return to Top FLEET TRACKING I want to track boats anywhere they travel, what product do I need? The best product is the SatelliteTracker #1405. The product includes central station software, maps, and the tracking device. Return to Top How do I get my Pas |
