Introduction

TeleType has made dramatic improvements in the speed of routing and ease of map transfer. As a result, the file structure has changed significantly from older versions and the program requires strict adherence to this structure.

Reminder: Automatic street map loading requires the appropriate "places.ttm" base map file to be manually loaded (i.e. visible) in the TeleType GPS application. 

The directory structure for TeleType GPS is as follows:

Laptops/Desktops

Pocket PC's/Storage Cards

-         Main program files

 

C:\Program Files\GPS\Maps\US

Example State Maps --- C:\Program Files\Gps\Maps\US\51_VA
Example US Highway Maps----C:\Program Files\Gps\Maps\US\Highways

-    Street maps for the country, organized by state

-    Click here for correct state directory names

    o  These directory names must be used for proper program operation

-       All Points of Interest for the state, including restaurants, hotels, post offices, and others. 

-        Note: do not try to load maps by double-clicking on the files, follow the instructions in the Users Guide for loading maps instead

 

C:\Program Files\Gps\Maps\US\Highways  (note that previous version used the folder called US_Highways

-    Interstate highway maps for each state    

-    Example: C:\Program Files\Maps\US\Highways\ak__hy.ttm

                  o  For Arkansas highways    



C:\Program Files\Gps\Export Maps

-  Maps that you have exported to desktop/laptop computer (using Export to PC function from laptop or desktop computer)

o  Can be used to organize maps needed for trips, which can later be downloaded to your PDA.

Example Country Maps --- C:\Program Files\Gps\Maps\EUR\France

-     Street maps for Europe, organized by country

-     Also includes Building Points of Interest such as Churches, Post Offices, etc.

-     Note: do not try to load maps by double-clicking on the files, follow the instructions in the Users Guide for loading maps instead

-     Highway maps for each European country

-     Example: C:\Program Files\Gps\Maps\EUR\Highways\germany_hy.ttm

o  For Germany highways

-    Street maps for Canada, organized by province

-    Click here  for correct province directory names

o  These directory names must be used for proper program operation

- Note: This folder should not be placed inside of My Documents or any other folder. If you wish to use a storage card, see below.

\Storage Card\Maps\US

- Note: If you use maps stored on a storage card, this card cannot be removed while those maps are loaded into the software. Failure to do so will cause incorrect program operation. 

-          Street maps for the country, organized by state

-          All Points of Interest for each state, including restaurants, hotels, post offices, and others.

-  Note: do not try to load maps by double-clicking on the files, follow the instructions in the Users Guide for loading maps instead
