The CDPD Tracker combines communications and transmission of location into one piece of equipment eliminating the need for a separate cellular phone and associated cables. The CDPD mobile to base communications is accomplished using the built-in Uniden 1000 CDPD modem. This option is especially suitable for private investigators wishing to track a vehicle covertly. The GPS/CDPD option is also beneficial for tracking of entire fleets of vehicles with minimal hardware investment per vehicle since no computer is required in the vehicle. Each vehicle can be tracked by anyone at the central office. Directions - instructions can be communicated via radio or other means with the driver of the vehicle. The base station software allowing you to see the position of each vehicle on street maps of the U.S. is included free of charge when you purchase the CDPD Tracker.

Regardless of the vehicle tracking option chosen you can always monitor vehicles in the central office simply by activating the TeleType GPS program. The built-in maps will display vehicle positions in real time, automatically.

CDPD TRACKER HARDWARE
The TeleType GPS CDPD Vehicle Tracker Unit (#1402) is rugged and allows 4 inputs to be monitored for vehicle security purposes. The unit contains a built in GPS receiver with the ability to automatically send time stamped position information. Optional roof mount and covert antennas are also available.

TELETYPE GPS BASE STATION SOFTWARE
The TeleType GPS program automatically plots the position of all vehicles equipped with the GPS CDPD Vehicle Tracker Unit. The TeleType GPS maps are included with the base station TeleType GPS software.

How the System Works
TeleType GPS software includes the ability to transmit vehicle position coordinates in real time via the internet to any email address you specify. Transmission can be automatic or on demand.

The software allows you to specify periodic sending of location coordinates. The central station operator can call the remote vehicle (also called "polling") to determine it's location. In addition, there is an option to attach a PDA or Laptop computer to the CDPD Tracker to provide street level navigation to the driver.

Central station TeleType GPS software plots position of each remote vehicle by automatically interpreting highly compressed data packets sent from the remote units. Mapping software is included. You can import your own custom maps or use the detailed street level maps that are included with the software.

REQUIREMENTS
Since the CDPD Tracker offers a combined wireless CDPD modem with built-in GPS receiver - no other equipment is required in the vehicle being tracked. 

You will only need the TeleType GPS software and maps for base station.

U.S. Coverage Map -  Keep in mind that the CDPD Tracker can continue to track even when the vehicle is outside of coverage area. Once vehicle returns to coverage area the tracking information can be transmitted. Call 1-888-DATA-ATT to obtain information about a specific zip code.
