Producing truck friendly routing for the entire route avoiding low bridges, commercially restricted areas, and more. The TeleType WorldNav devices evaluate the entire route and produce a suitable route taking into account low bridges, weight restrictions, commercially restricted areas, and Hazmat levels, whereas other products simply flash a warning message regarding a low bridge – by then it might be too late and the driver is forced to back up (or worse).

Ability to enter any size and weight and have the map visibly change. Over dimensional, small trucks, and 18 wheelers are all supported. Maps and routing adjust to support each type of vehicle.

Visible differences on the map showing truck restricted areas in bright pink. The driver can easily view the map to see what areas are restricted, no guessing. If interested, the driver can click on the restricted road and information will be displayed regarding the reason for the restriction. TeleType developed the technology that allows the map to visibly change based on restrictions and has pending patents on this implementation.

Easy Updating and Upgrading. Ability to easily update the software and maps by exchanging the memory card (similar to memory cards used in digital cameras) through TeleType. Customers receive one free update, subsequent updates can be purchased. TeleType provides self addressed stamped return packaging for return of the old memory chip. Small updates can be downloaded via internet if so desired.

Finds addresses that competitor systems are unable to locate. The TeleType Smart Search Technology overcomes the challenge of locating addresses that may be specified incorrectly or are complicated (such as those with prefixes and suffixes, SW, E ….)

Extensive Points of Interest database (Over 12 Million Points). Easily locate truck stops (by brand if desired), fuel stops, rest areas, CAT scale locations, businesses, and more. A unique telephone number search allows businesses to be found without the need for an address.

Intelligent re-route. Drivers can select detour (avoid 1, 3, or 5 miles ahead, back to original route) or take advantage of flexible routing options such as changing to“avoid freeways”.
